Welcome to Kiwi

    “a recording studio”

Recording is our passion.  What’s yours?

Kiwi Audio is the brainchild of owner / operator Brad Showalter. Designed by Jeff Hedback of HDAcoustics, the studio has been built from the ground up as a dedicated recording space.  “Jeff and I spent a few months in the discovery phase combing through studio websites, pictures, etc.  Early on I gave Jeff almost complete creative control on the design.  Having spent years as a session player,  I knew he had seen a lot of rooms and wanted him to design something he was truly proud of with as few restraints as possible.”

“The studio has been a functional recording space since 2013, almost exactly one year after beginning construction.  With a few elements still ‘under construction’, as time and finances allow I continue upgrading the rooms.”  Located on 124 acres of working farmland the surroundings offer a unique setting that many other studios can’t offer: space and privacy.  On the coolness factor the onsite 50’+ grain silo doubles as a reverb chamber.  And it IS very cool.

What we charge, and why we charge it.

Talking about finances is slightly more enjoyable than removing a band-aid stuck to your chest hair.  But it’s important.

Recording costs money.  THERE I SAID IT!!!  Phew.  Now that that’s over, there is a very logical and methodical thought process behind what our rates are.  Kiwi is known for doing our absolute best at working within your budget.  So checkout some numbers and ask questions when clarification is needed.

  • $55 per hour with engineer
  • 2 hour minimum
Need a few hours?  Hourly blocks allow for maximum accomplishment with minimum financial commitment.  Let us help calculate the hours needed for your specific project.
  • $600 per day
  • Book by DAY...Book by NIGHT
The day rate of $600 is a significant savings over hourly.  This allows plenty of time for exploring rabbit holes without rigidly sticking to a schedule.
  • $??
  • Unique budget for your project
  • Price specific to engineer
We believe that every project is unique and it’s budget should be no different.  In the end a project rate always saves the artist money.  We work until the scope of your project is done, and if time gets excessive we revisit the budget.

Flexible payment options:
